The Centre for European Governance is a university-recognized research centre and a Jean Monnet Centre for Excellence. It has a collaborative and research-led approach to studying European Governance and is internationally renowned for interdisciplinary research and post-graduate specialised training.
It is based within the Department of Politics which was ranked 6th in the 2008 RAE for world-leading research and 4th in the UK for Politics in the National Student Survey (2009).
CEG members lead an exceptional number of funded research projects between them due to the value of their findings to research councils and the public/private sector both locally and nationally. Exeter hosts the European Journal of Political Research and the European Journal of International Relations and CEG members sit on UACES, SCHES and ECPR committees. The Centre provides advanced specialist training in the areas of EU politics, regulatory governance, public opinion, constitutional politics, and the political economy of European integration through its MA programmes coordinated through the Department of Politics and the European stream of the MPA programme:
