Kate sheppard
On completion of the MSc
Kate was accepted as a part-time PhD student with Dr Gaynor Parfitt
investigating adherence issues in Cardiac Rehabilitation, which was
joint funded by the University of Bangor and the North West Wales NHS.
Linked to the PhD was a part-time job with the NHS as an exercise physiologist
in the Phase III and Phase IV Cardiac Rehabilitation programs, working
in both the hospital and in the community. While at the School of Sport,
Health and Exercise Sciences in Bangor Kate also worked for Prof Lew
Hardy as a research assistant for two years and is in her last year
of Supervised Experience as a probationary Exercise Psychologist (Support
and Research) with BASES and has worked with a range of clients. Kate has transferred down
to Exeter with Dr Gaynor Parfitt to complete her PhD full-time and the
focus of the PhD is to investigate exercise intensities and affect in
children. Outside of work Kate plays hockey (and is goalie for her sins!) for a local club - ISCA- and also runs and goes to the gym. Snowboarding and travelling are also Kate's passion and does both as often as money allows!
