Research Interests

Professor Savic's research interests include:

  • the development and application of risk based decision-support systems;
  • the development and application of modelling and optimization techniques to water engineering systems, with particular application to the operation and design of urban water distribution and wastewater systems;
  • water distribution and sewer asset deterioration modelling and management.

Teaching Interests

Professor Savic has lectured extensively in the fields of:

  • urban water;
  • system optimization;
  • hydroinformatics.

Other Relevant Information

Professor Savic jointly leads the Centre for Water Systems which has about 30 researchers working mainly in the areas of urban water, system optimisation and hydroinformatics. The Centre has developed novel algorithms and software tools which are being applied to a variety of real engineering design problems in collaboration with water industry consultants and water companies worldwide.
