Landfill Site Monitoring

Legislation controlling the disposal of waste to landfill has created a requirement for regular monitoring, including inert waste sites. Since 1991 the Earth Resources Centre has been closely involved in all aspects of the environmental management of sites throughout Devon and beyond.

SITE INVESTIGATIONS

Proposed landfill sites assessed, and survey plans formulated, in accordance with national waste regulations.

SITE MONITORING

Production of Waste Regulatory Authority approved plans for long-term monitoring of existing and new sites.

ANALYSIS OF LEACHATE and GASES:

  • heavy metals
  • ammonia
  • chlorides
  • BOD (biological oxygen demand)
  • COD (chemical oxygen demand)
  • pH
  • conductivity
  • TDS
  • methane
  • hydrogen
  • carbon dioxide
