Endurance athlete support.

Using on-line gas analysis, we can accurately measure VO2 during an incremental exercise test to exhaustion, in order to calculate VO2 max - a gold standard measure of aerobic fitness.
During the max test, we can measure blood lactate at intervals which we use to determine training programs and assess adaptation to training.
We can tailor a test to suit your sport, and can run a max test on treadmill, rower or cycle ergometer.

Team support.

We can offer support for coaches working with teams, or other groups, and have the flexibility to perform certain tests in your venue. Coaches may be interested in monitoring certain fitness parameters, such as maximal oxygen uptake, anaerobic capacity, muscular strength, hydration and flexibility in their team players.
During university holidays, we offer residential support in our halls of residence.

Educational.

We often run physiology classes for students in related areas. In the past, we have helped schools and colleges who bring in A level, GCSE and Foundation course PE and sports science students.

Other.

We are open to improvisation. If you are interested in any sort of exercise support, or represent an organisation looking to collaborate, or are interested in conducting physiology related research, we may be able to help in some way.

Volunteer for research.

We are often looking for subjects to take part in sports science studies. This can be a good opportunity to experience the workings of an exercise physiology laboratory. Although tests are designed to achieve the purpose of the research, there is often the chance to get some free test information - such as a VO2 max score.
