Afghan Refugees

The starting point for the first material is an attempt to look at Afghan refugees, very topical in the aftermath of the events of September 11, 2001. .zip

Lesson plans from a picture

The lesson plans listed below were constructed as a 'blind' exercise by students on the 2001-2002 Citizenship with History course at Exeter. The brief was simple: "Construct a scheme of work or lesson based on this picture." The picture appeared in the G2 section of The Guardian on 23rd October 2001.

The diversity of what was produced is testimony to the group as a whole. The intended range of audience stretches from early KS3 to KS5 and, whilst there is a focus on what might have been expected, there is evidence that the group had vision that extended far beyond 'the obvious'.
